Marketplace Ad Pros: Amazon advertising software and services

Marketplace Ad Pros connects Amazon advertising data to its built-in chat or a compatible AI assistant. Amazon advertising teams can find search terms that generate spend but no orders, compare campaign budgets and placement performance, and approve changes to keywords, bids or budgets in the same conversation.

Verdict: MAP is useful when an Amazon operator wants to move from a question about spend to the underlying search terms, placements or products without rebuilding exports. Its row-level data access also lets the assistant group related queries and view advertising performance alongside stock. The operator decides whether the evidence calls for a negative keyword, a bid change, more budget or a listing fix.

Marketplace Ad Pros features and workflows

MAP lets an Amazon operator ask why money is being spent and retrieve the search terms, campaigns, placements or products behind the answer. The assistant can group related queries, compare spend with daily budgets, and combine advertising with Seller Central stock data. A search-term review then turns those rows into a scoped negative-keyword or keyword-expansion proposal, with confirmed edits recorded after execution.

  1. Read search terms with their targeting context

Ask for the shopper query, matched keyword, match type, campaign, ad group, spend, clicks, orders and sales. Keep marketplaces separate. Amazon Ads is enough for this report; Seller Central is needed only when the question also involves stock, orders or listings.

  2. Separate irrelevant traffic from useful queries

Compare no-order queries with the product being advertised and group repeated words when small individual rows hide a larger pattern. Keep ASIN rows out of word grouping. A relevant brand or product query with no orders may call for a listing, price or stock investigation; a converting broad- or phrase-match query can become a candidate for an exact keyword.

  3. Set the exact change and its scope

An irrelevant shopper query can be proposed as a negative exact keyword. Use ad-group scope when the query is wrong for one product but useful for another in the campaign; campaign scope applies when it is irrelevant to all products there. MAP applies the supported edit after the operator confirms it and the relevant write permission is enabled.

  4. Reconcile the changeset with the account

Before a batch, retain the current values and the proposed change list. Afterward, use the changeset to identify successful and failed rows, then read back the affected entities. A failed row needs separate handling; the changeset records execution and does not provide a general preview or undo.

The result is a scoped negative-keyword or keyword-expansion list, with the edits that actually reached the account recorded separately. Report delays and later-attributed orders remain relevant when judging the next round of search terms.

Best for

  • Amazon PPC operators and agencies that repeatedly investigate search terms with spend but no orders, weak placements or campaigns limited by budget. With the advertising accounts connected, they can inspect the underlying rows and decide whether to add a negative keyword, change a bid or adjust a budget.
  • Brands and agencies that need to check stock before increasing advertising spend, or question an existing agency’s recommendations. Connecting Amazon Ads and Seller Central lets them compare spend and inventory for the same products; read-only access supports the review, while an operator remains responsible for the advertising decision.

Poor fit

  • Teams seeking one place to operate Amazon, Meta, Google and Walmart campaigns. MAP’s campaign analysis and editing focus on Amazon, so it does not replace the tools used to manage those other advertising channels.
  • Brands buying AI Connect or the Optimization Suite to hand off all daily account management without an in-house operator. These software plans provide analysis, recommendations and confirmed edits; having a senior strategist run Amazon Ads and Seller Central is the separate Fully Managed service.

Questions to answer before buying

Choose the service

What does the Optimization Suite add to AI Connect?

Public answer: AI Connect provides account analysis in MAP chat or a supported AI client, plus approved edits. Launch, Boost and Dominion already include AI Connect and add dashboards, notifications, guided experiments and daily recommendations. Fully Managed adds human account management and includes Dominion; it is a separate service choice.

Campaign changes

Can the team control and reverse AI edits?

Public answer: Access starts read-only. MAP chat uses Edit Mode; an external MCP client uses its own OAuth write permission. Edits require confirmation and are logged. Turning off access stops future writes but does not undo past changes. A reversal needs the original settings and a supported update; archiving or deleting an entity may be irreversible.

Additional charges

Which costs need checking beyond the base subscription?

Public answer: Extra brands, an outside AI client and a separately paid Keepa API subscription can add costs. Amazon Marketing Stream has a published per-profile add-on, while Suite plans list ad-account allowances; confirm how those units and included allowances apply to the account. Suite prices already include AI Connect. The official pages display dollar signs without clearly specifying the currency or tax treatment.

Pros

  • Row-level report access supports follow-up questions, shared-word analysis and ads-plus-inventory investigations.
  • Analysis and confirmed keyword, bid or budget edits can be handled in the same conversation.

Cons

  • Search-term decisions still depend on product relevance and delayed conversion reporting; zero orders alone do not identify the right fix.
  • General batch changes lack a universal preview or undo; the original values must be retained for supported reversals.

Marketplace Ad Pros alternatives compared

MAP focuses on Amazon account questions and confirmed edits. Teikametrics adds ranked recommendations using competitive data, while Pacvue extends the operating scope across retailers.

ProductProduct scopeBest-fit scenarios and implementation responsibilitiesPricing and billing
Marketplace Ad ProsCurrent productMarketplace Ad Pros connects Amazon advertising reports to chat so operators can investigate search terms, budgets and product performance and approve supported edits.

Best fitMAP suits ad-hoc investigations across Amazon report rows: group related queries, inspect placement costs, or join ads to Seller Central stock before deciding on an edit. Teikametrics adds ranked recommendations with Market IQ competitive context; Pacvue covers advertising across more retailers.

ImplementationConnect the intended brand, advertising profile and marketplace, and add Seller Central when stock or sales context is needed. The operator reviews the proposed target and scope; write-enabled chat applies the edit and records its result.

TeikametricsTeikametrics combines marketplace advertising with ARI Assistant, which ranks recommendations using account performance and Market IQ competitive data.

Best fitCompared with MAP’s query-led report investigation, ARI Assistant presents weekly, ranked actions for tracked products, such as budget, bidding-limit and targeting changes. It suits a team that wants competitive share and search-rank signals inside the recommendation, with a one-click action after approval.

ImplementationEnable Market IQ and track at least one product; the initial recommendation scope covers Amazon and Walmart Sponsored Products. An operator approves Assistant changes. Automatic bidding is a separate ARI Ads function, so the Assistant and bidding settings need separate setup.

PacvueRetail-media advertising and commerce operations, including campaign decisions informed by stock, price and sales data.

Best fitPacvue is the broader option when the team must manage retail-media campaigns across retailers and use inventory, Buy Box and price context in advertising decisions. MAP concentrates on querying and editing Amazon accounts through chat; Pacvue brings those decisions into its retail-media and commerce workspace.

Selection advice

Choose by the analysis the operator repeats

AI Connect is most relevant when the work begins with an open question: which search terms are wasting spend, why a campaign is not spending, or which advertised products are running low on stock. The assistant can query the rows and refine the question without a fresh export. A fixed, recurring mechanical batch may be better handled by a maintained API script; MAP’s own bulk-change guide makes that distinction.

Optimization software and managed services

A team that can do its own analysis can start by evaluating AI Connect. The Optimization Suite adds daily recommendations and guided experiments, with AI Connect already included. Fully Managed is for buyers seeking human account management and includes Dominion. These choices change who performs the work; buying a higher software plan does not by itself hire an operator.

Seller suites and other advertising channels

Helium 10 is a partial alternative when research and listing tools are needed alongside Amazon advertising. Google Performance Max and Meta Advantage+ instead operate in Google and Meta advertising channels. They can support a brand’s wider acquisition activity, but they do not replace MAP’s Amazon account connection or operate Amazon campaigns through that connection.

Check the complete operating cost

The required data determines part of the bill. Amazon Ads supplies the search-term and placement reports; Seller Central adds stock and selling context. Hourly Amazon Marketing Stream data, extra brands, an external AI client and optional Keepa access have separate commercial conditions. Suite already includes AI Connect, while Fully Managed purchases account-management work as well as software.

Marketplace Ad Pros FAQs

Search-term reports use Amazon Ads data, stock questions add Seller Central, and account edits need a separate write grant. These differences also affect which service the team needs.

Does a search-term review require Seller Central or Keepa?

No. A Sponsored Products search-term review uses Amazon Ads report data. Seller Central adds selling and listing context; Keepa adds its own product and price-history data through a separately paid API. Those are separate needs.

Should an ASIN in the search-term report become a negative keyword?

An ASIN identifies a product, so it should be separated from shopper wording before an n-gram analysis. The operator should inspect the matching product-targeting context rather than treat the ASIN as an irrelevant word. MAP documentation describes supported status and bid changes for product and category targets; those are distinct from adding a text negative keyword.

Can an out-of-budget warning justify a higher daily budget?

The spend and delivery pattern matter. A campaign that reaches its daily cap and stops serving has a budget constraint; one that spends below the cap may need a bid or targeting review instead. MAP can query spend, daily budget and performance, so the operator can distinguish the two before proposing an increase.

Does MAP’s changeset preview or undo a batch edit?

No. It records edits as they run, including what succeeded and failed. General writes have no universal rollback button. Save the original values and check whether the affected entity supports reversal before changing it. The preview documented for Keyword Automation applies to that closed-beta feature, not all edits.

Is connecting free the same as a free Optimization Suite trial?

No. Account connection is free, while the published Optimization Suite trial costs $20 for 14 days, with the credit applied to a later subscription. Public pages describe both free read access and paid AI Connect offers; confirm the available access and charges for the intended account.

Does Fully Managed include software, and how is the fee calculated?

Fully Managed includes Dominion and human account management. The published service fee is $2,000 per month or 10% of monthly advertising spend, whichever is greater; advertising spend is separate. It has no setup fee, operates month to month and requires 30 days’ cancellation notice.
