What does 500 ml mug capacity mean?
Capacity describes the volume a mug is designed to hold. A 500 ml capacity is about 16.9 US fluid ounces. It does not describe how long a drink stays hot.
Compare it with the drink you actually make
Use a marked measuring jug to measure your usual serving. Compare that amount with 500 ml, and leave room for carrying and additions such as milk. A nominal capacity does not tell you a comfortable fill level for every use.
Capacity and outside size answer different questions
HarborMug lists 500 ml and exterior dimensions of 9 × 9 × 19 cm. Use the dimensions to check the space on your desk or inside an empty compartment. You cannot calculate usable interior capacity by multiplying outside measurements: walls, shape and other construction details take space.
Check the units before comparing
The conversion uses 29.5735295625 ml per US fluid ounce: 500 ÷ 29.5735295625 = 16.907. Imperial fluid ounces are a different unit, so keep the unit name with the number. Capacity and volume refer to this same buying question and belong on one page.
Check care before choosing
A suitable capacity does not establish dishwasher or microwave compatibility. Read what hand-wash only means, then review HarborMug's size, care and price.
